Flag Officers Promoted at Annual Meeting

The LYC Annual Meeting honors the accomplishments of the Club’s members and signals a passing of the torch to new leadership. After two years at the helm, Tor Holtan ended his term as Commodore and Vice Commodore Carl Olsson was promoted to the top spot.  Rob Snedeker and Tim Porter were installed as Vice Commodore and Rear Commodore respectively. 

A select few members also received annual awards.  The Benjamin A. Acker Trophy was awarded to Com Crocker and Dual Macintyre on Shields 23 Rascal as the best placing LYC yacht in YRALIS one design racing.  The Lipton-Martin Trophy for the top performing LYC-flagged offshore yacht went to Thomas J. Carroll and his J/133 SirenSong.  The Alex Gest Trophy was awarded to past Commodore David V. Smalley as “the individual or individuals who have made a significant contribution to the Larchmont Yacht Club and to yachting.”  The Frederick Martens Trophy, awarded from time to time to members or spouses of members who are determined by the Trustees to have performed extraordinary yachting or other services for LYC, was awarded to Nicholas E. Langone.
