Larchmont Yacht Club wins 2006 Long Island Sound Team Race Championship.
Over the weekend of October 14 - 15 six clubs gathered at LYC to sail for the YRA of LIS' club vs. club team racing championship. Each club entered a Varsity and a Masters team that raced for respective LIS team race championships. The Glencairn Trophy would be presented to the club with the best combined performance. Larchmont fielded two strong teams finishing first in the Masters division and third among the Varsity teams. That combination allowed LYC to beat Noroton YC (second in both divisions) in a tiebreaker earning LYC the new Aileen trophy for the Masters Championship and the overall Glencairn Trophy.
Larchmont's Masters team included Commodore Dave Smalley, team captain Rich duMoulin, Rob Dailey, Tony Leggett, Buttons Padin and Roland Schulz. Our Varsity was captained by Sean Doyle with Jason Carroll, Ed duMoulin, Ted Ferrarone, Ned Roseberry and Ward Young.
