FOR FRIDAY, JULY 18 TO SUNDAY JULY 20TH
AND COMBINED WITH
LARCHMONT RACE WEEK
Danny Pletsch, sailing with crews Megan Magill (Friday) and Carrie Amarante (Saturday and Sunday) bested a fleet of 78 Vanguard 15s to win the 2008 Nautica Vanguard 15 National Championship, finishing 23 points ahead of Ward Young and Anne-Marie Martin.
The regatta, hosted at Larchmont YC, was part of the 110th Larchmont Race Week. 114 Vanguard 15s came to Larchmont five weeks earlier but the wind did not cooperate. The rescheduled event had ideal conditions, with sunny skies and steadily building southwesters each day, allowing for 16 races over three days.
