Clicking on this page means one of two things, you want to get involved with the race committee or
you want to up your game on the committee

If you're in the 1st group, there is NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED! Here is a brief look at the jobs we have on the water each day.
Signal boat - The Principal Race Officer (PRO) is responsible for all the big decisions. With the PRO on the signal boat are a timer, people to raise and lower flags, recorders or scribes checking boats in and writing down the sail numbers of finshers.
Mark & Pin boats - at least 2 people in each boat - they are responsible for putting bags filled with air wherever the PRO tells them to. If it's shifty winds, they needs to pick them up and move them, they also need to keep an eye on the wind direction and keep track of boats as they round.
Scorers - can be either on the water or ashore. They need to enter all the sail numbers in the order the recorders give them into a computerized scoring program

What Equipment should I have with me?

While the race committee does provide certain equipment, it's a limited supply and it's always good to have your own so you know it's available and how to use it. Different jobs have different reguirements so check the lists before you leave the dock to be sure you have what is needed. Items marked with an * are those we recommend you own.
